One of my favorite tracks of 2014 was Miserable Chillers' “Bull Dozer,” which I was lucky enough to see played live at the last HFSU show of the year. It’s got a hook catchy enough to be an anthem, and the strange timbre of Gallego’s voice is a definite grower. For three minutes, it’s a perfect, grungy, and strangely sentimental pop song. It certainly doesn’t sound like its from the 2010s, but today there are so many different and splintered music scenes and niches that I’m not even sure what the 2010s sound like anyways.
Gallego is also a part of Drug Pizza and The Dicktations, who are releasing a new record this month. His music with Miserable Chillers can be found at his Bandcamp.
