Classically trained in flute and composition at The Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division, 21-year-old Maurice Marion uses his classical background and knowledge of analog synthesizers to construct complex electronic textures for projects spanning from funk to hip-hop to ambient noise. Maurice’s funk-pop project Liberty Zoo, featured in Billboard Magazine as one of "5 Up-And-Coming Artists” still in college, opened for rapper Big Sean last spring at Columbia University’s Bacchanal festival. Maurice studied mixing and sound design with Joseph Colmenero, a producer and sound engineer for Wu-Tang Clan, Interpol, and Lana Del Ray, and he is currently pursuing a B.A. in Computer Science from Columbia University.
