The Pluto Moons are a Brooklyn based trio that serves a unique mix of punk, R&B, psychedelic grooves, pop and everything in between. I saw them last year at a concert at Wesleyan University and they were incredible. They played a raw, disjointed sort of party music perfect for the crowd (a bunch of drunk college students) while keeping the music interesting and powerful far beyond what is needed to keep drunk collegiates dancing. Their sludgy beats, psychedelic synths, melodic bass playing, and soulful vocals and harmonies combine into a dirty mess that could not be more refreshing.
Check their album Mannequin Legs, especially the songs No Evidence and No Will Power, but its all good.
Also, they just released a single entitled Eyez, which is very groovy. Give it a listen.
